CDD version 1.00 September 16, 1991
Change Disk & Directory is a DOS short cut utility.
CDD allows you to change directories with minimal keystokes or find
directories over multiple hard drives.
Example: consider this directory tree
\-----------SLBBS----FILES------DOSFILES-----4DOSFILE
\ \ \--------WINFILES
\ \ \-------TSFILES
\ \ \------GAMES
\ \
\ \--MESSAGES---AREA1
\ \-------AREA2
\ \------AREA3
EMAIL
Given this tree you could change to the 4DOSFILE using the following command:
CDD \S\F\D\4
The rule of thumb is that you have to specify only enough of the directory
name to make it unique. Thus the command: "CDD \S\M\A" would change the
directory to \SLBBS\MESSAGES\AREA1. To get to \SLBBS\MESSAGES\AREA2 you would
have to specify "CDD \S\M\AREA2".
All standard dos conventions apply. Thus from \SLBBS\FILES\DOSFILES you could
type "CDD ..\W" to get to \SLBBS\FILES\WINFILES.
Another use of CDD is to change to directory when you don't remember which
drive it is on. Suppose you have a program called FD. You don't use it often
but you know the directory is called FD.
To get to the directory FD you simple type in "CDD *:\FD".
